Themoregulation for safety & performance

Who could be affected by heat?

Workers exposed to hot indoor environments or hot and humid conditions outdoors are at risk of heat-related illness, especially those doing heavy work tasks or using bulky or non-breathable protective clothing and equipment.  Working in these environments for hours a day without an effective means to cool the body can be stressful, causing a definite decrease in performance, mental capacity & physical strength with increased risk of both injury & accidents in the workplace.

The effects of high temperatures in the workplace

High temperatures in the workplace reduce worker morale and productivity.  They also increase absenteeism and mistakes. In a study performed by ASHVE (now ASHRAE) it was proven that a typical manufacturing plant loses 1% efficiency per man-hour for every degree the temperature rises above 80F (27C).  So in the Florida heat that can easily reach 95F for many months at a time, some employees can loose as much as 15% efficiency PER HOUR!  Further, it has been shown that a worker's ability to focus attention and the worker's reaction times can both be dramatically reduced by even a 2 percent dehydration level due to heat stress.

Finding ways to keep your body temperature balanced is crucial on both an endurance & safety level.  There are many products on the market which provide limited and short term cooling, however none is as effective as the  ICEpodz  Product line, providing THREE levels of cooling to the body.
